Gritty Kitty Hefeweizen
Brewed a hefeweizen yesterday. A simple recipe with fifty percent wheat malt and fifty percent german pilsner malt. It was a perfect day for brewing in Colorado with temperatures in the mid twenties and a light snowfall. It was a challenge keeping all the temperatures up where I wanted but at the end the he session I was able to hit my gravity and attain a brewhouse efficiency of sixty five percent, that is pretty good for a batch sparge. Below is a picture of the hot break as well as my makeshift windscreen.
